Carpet stretching San Diego

It really gets old having to restretch a job that was to be carpet cleaning only. Don’t get me wrong, it’s part of what I do, but it’s the lack of professional installers that bug me. Sure, this is San Diego and we share the border, so we get alot of non standard work. What does that mean? It’s very simple, a new carpet “must” be power stretched in during install IAW CRI 105. If it isn’t then it is considered “damaged goods” and is to be replaced! But, your installer gave you a 1 year warranty and by the time you call me to clean your carpet your 1 year “install warranty” is over. So, when I get there I tell you your carpet is loose and you look at me as if I’m the bad guy. Now I have to tell you how much it will cost and that since it wasn’t technically installed that your 25 year carpet warranty is void on $11,000 worth of carpet. We are carpet stretching Bostonia to fix this for you.

The problem today are subcontractors in every servic business. Just google “carpet cleaning san diego” and you’ll see all the new home adviser, thumbtack, houzz, Serviz and growing. These are groups that cash in on us. We pay them to be listed and many times a percentage of the job take. They represent us as prescreened and approved best contractors. Well, google them and complaints to see the real story.

So, the one you bought the carpet from probably sent out invitations to bid and went with the cheapest. I get these all the time. The installers that won the bid have to really hussle and take several short cuts to bang out the install. Keep in mind that your carpet used to last up to 25 years.

The installers laid it in and most of the time just used a knee kicker to install it, no powerstretch. That is why we are here 2-3 years later! We shouldn’t be here!

So that’s how it is today. Subcontractors know the one who hired them has thier name on the job, it’s permission to cut corners.

When we refer anyone for new carpet it is always with a company that has its own installers, never a middle man operation. You’d think the big name companies would have thier installers but it’s the other way around.

What you can do to protect yourself is have an independent person inspect your new install, we do this all the time, just ask some of the carpet distributors here, they hate my guts. We have several clients get new carpet very simply because it was a bad install or they sold them the wrong carpet fiber type that the customer chose and paid for.

If you have loose carpet, give us a call today.
