Things are tough with this economy for everyone. I for one know that trying to find any kind of a decent service for anything is really hard right now because many are using attractive marketing and once you sign up & pay you find the extra charges involved – the hidden charges. Before you know it you realize you made a costly mistake.

I find people are paying me before I even start to provide my service just out of fear that at the end my bill will be higher than they signed for.

When it comes to carpet cleaning in San Diego, there are a few very important things that you should be looking for in order to get that true definition of “Carpet Cleaning”.

#1 Obviously Hot Water Extraction is the only way to go, Dry Cleaning methods are just a way of skirting having to buy proper equipment and the labor intensity of doing the job right. It’s human nature to look for an easier way even if that means providing substandard service.

#2 Flush & Rinse – get the dirt & contaminates out without leaving Chemical Residues behind that soon attract new soil and of course are not good for any ones health. The Zero Residue technique has been around for a long time, the industry approves of running a soap, or conditioner through the water because it sells more chemicals and it makes Carpet Cleaning much easier. Many disagree with that approach and instead run pure soft water through their flush & rinse system as we do. Yes, there are real bad situations where having to run an acidic conditioner through the water has to happen but not on the average carpet.

#3 High Heat for sanitizing sake is very important. Killing bacteria and some of those live critters such as fleas & dust mites is part of the key to true cleaning. Wash your clothes in cold water someday. Only a quality truck mount system can provide this for you, steam cleaning does not happen with an electrical portable unit that many carpet cleaners use. These portable machines just do not provide the pressure to do a real flush & rinse let alone provide a thorough extraction of the rinse water.

#4 Get the carpet Dry Fast! This the most important finale step that is always overlooked. You see, most carpet cleaners are priced to get in & get out quick. I call this “splash & dash”. I’m sure that at one time or another you have tried the Whole House thing for $99. Run the soaps & chemicals through the water, run in the hose & do the squirt with very little suck in 30-40 minutes. You got left with the dirty water & all that residue. Probably took a few days to dry in the summer.

The correct way to provide the definition of “clean” is to slowly provide the flush & rinse action while slowly extracting the water removing as much as possible. My signature service is to go a step further & provide my Flash Dry service where we have special designed down draft fans that follow my work speeding up the drying process.

The carpet pad under the carpet is one gigantic sponge that has absorbed everything spilled onto the carpet and the water from sloppy carpet cleaners in the past or even the dirty water from your Bissel cleaning.

During the drying process anything in that pad will wick to the surface if the carpet is left soaked. This is all that bacteria & spills.

Getting the carpet cleaned the right way will save $$$’s in the long run.

Check out my current special or call me and let’s discuss your situation – 619.462.3541 035

We all want a sanctuary that we can go to where we can be safe. Our homes are designed for that. Most of us require that to be our healthiest place away from lifes pollution. Most of us do our best to keep our sanctuaries safe & healthy.

Clean air is my biggest concern in my home simply because of the very bad air that we have here. I know may of you think that we have great air here but trust me, we don’t. I have taken great steps to find the best and safest air filter machines out there. I also know that my carpet maintains a charge that attracts many indoor pollutants such as dust, dust mite feces and pet dander. The two systems (carpet & air machines) do a great job. I’ve had all hard floors & I’ve had the out of control dust problems & I know that my carpet holds all that otherwise free dust until I vacuum which is another story.

I became a carpet cleaner while I was in the Navy because my dog was very upset that my wife was on vacation and developed some very bad loose bowels if you know what I mean. It was my job to clean up the mess and I had a so called Steam Cleaning machine my wife bought on a shopping channel. Some would have said that what I did was good enough for government work but there was still some nasty stuff there, you couldn’t see it but it was there and you could smell it. The underpowered machine actually helped sink a lot of the poopey water into the pad & backing. So I went to the Local shopping center & rented a machine. Did the same thing, loaded up the machine with soapy chemical and water, cleaned the spots again & the entire house. The water was real dirty. After day 3 it was finally dry but I could smell it down in there so I went to Home Depot and got a professional portable carpet machine, added more soap/chemicals and went at the spots & the whole house again. The water was still black!

Here is my point, while I tried to solve this mystery of dirty water every time I cleaned the carpet in the span of 10 days I became a carpet cleaner & started my business part time until I retired from the Navy. I educated myself in the trade and figured it all out before I went full time – To keep our important primary air filters cleaned (our carpets & soft floor coverings) it takes High Pressure Water, High Pressure Vacuum & It High Heat. The high water pressure is what provides the flush & rinse action, the high pressure vacuum quickly recovers the rinse water before it can absorb the carpet backing, the high heat is what melts the greasy soils away, the gums, the waxes, kills the dust mite, fleas and bacteria.

That process is professionally achieved with a truck mounted unit in the van of the carpet cleaning company. Our company does not use soap but a special green, non-toxic & natural cleaner that is applied to the carpet before the steam cleaning. Our special steam cleaning process is done completely with soft water instead of soapy chemical water. This insures that the carpets are left residue free without harmful chemical residues that can effect you and your loved ones, there are no sticky or crunchy residues that remain behind to rapidly attract new soil or damage carpet fibers by the high alkalinity.

Your carpet consists of the carpet of course & installed on a giant sponge called the pad. It’s this pad that absorbes all the spills, pet urine and dirty carpet cleaning water from sloppy Carpet Cleaners or do it yourself carpet cleaning machines. Once all that stuff gets into the pad then it collects into a nice state of gooey bacteria. Get the carpets wet for any significant amount of time and all of that wicks back to the surface.

This is why we use high powered truck mount units to totally clean your carpets without driving soil or dirty water into the carpets due to inadequate vacuum pressure. We take it a step further by providing our Rapid Speed Dry process to leave your carpets dry to the touch.

One of the biggest problems that I run into is the person who has always cleaned the carpets with her Bissel and now she feels she should have them professionally cleaned. These carpets are always clogged with years of soapy residues that need more work than normal to flush all the soap out and get the carpet back to a normal ph level. Many times these carpets have a browned out tinge due to all the soaps & chemicals and sometimes can not be corrected. But, the best thing is that almost every time the customer is extremely happy with the new soft feeling and get this – you can actually breathe easier.

If you are concerned about your indoor air quality & what residue might be lurking in your carpets, have it professionally cleaned once in awhile. Protect the ones that you love that crawl & live on your carpets. http://www.miracleserv.com 619.462.3541

<href="http://www.miracleserv.com" title="San Diego's Expert Commercial Carpet Cleaning Professionals">. When we originally started Carpet Cleaning it was acres and acres & years of just commercial carpet cleaning on a full time basis.

Since commercial carpet is completely different than that of residential San Diego carpet it is cleaned in a different manner with various methods and moisture control. Since most commercial office, building, hospital, church, banquet halls and restaurants have controlled air and no natural ventilation, it is essential to dry these carpets ASAP! This is where we learned to dry all carpets by the time we leave any job.

The majority of commercial carpet is polypropylene (Olefin) glue down. It is a plastic carpet made of recycled material such as plastic soda & water bottles.

Since this carpet is plastic, it is moisture sensitive, meaning that water does not absorb into the fibers but runs straight to the carpet backing. With this in mind it is absolutely paramount to have control of all moisture used and to expedite the evaporation process.

This commercial fiber loves oil & grease of any kind and can stain these. Since these are plastic it is very hard to stain them except with grease. The worst characteristic of building and commercial carpet is that it wears rapidly fast.

Keeping all of this in mind, the worse place for any Olefin commercial carpet is in an environment such as a greasy restaurant kitchen or an environment where abrasive particulates of any will be tracked in or spilled onto the carpet to be walked on. You can see the scratched gray traffic lanes where this happens. In front of reception counters, door ways and stair landings where pivot foot action takes place and stair noses are always the worst. Many times office carpets get friction burns from personal moving desks or other heavy furnishings.

We have some of the best equipment and cleaning technology for all commercial carpet cleaning needs. Like I said we cut our teeth on this stuff and many of those jobs were correction where others had failed.

Industrial Commercial carpet cleaning has a big problematic side which determine the facility carpet cleaning method or methods. Also many times this carpet is improperly installed on a pad instead of being glued down to the sub floor. Sometimes they will be glued directly to the carpet pad.

Give us a call for your San Diego Office Carpet Cleaning needs today!

There are none for the residential consumer! There are great benefits for the novice Carpet Cleaner.

Dry carpet cleaning is many times reserved for commercial carpet since commercial carpet is a complete different animal than residential carpet. Fiber type, fiber construction, carpet weight or thickness of the commercial carpet and the installation – glue down, have much to do with the method to be used. Residential carpet is completely opposite and has been designed for Hot Water Extraction (truck mounted steam cleaning).

The carpet cleaning industry in San Diego is over populated, when you lose your job or get laid off the Carpet Cleaning business is where many go to. The start-up costs are tremendous unless you take the Low Road to Dry Carpet Cleaning. The start-up costs very affordable & many have businesses that provide the equipment to these new novices and make it sound very attractive. a typical start-up package contains a Janitor’s Floor Buffer that is typically used for polishing or scrubbing floors, a set of round material rags called bonnets, a pump up garden sprayer for the chemicals & of course the chemicals needed. The selling message is given to each prospective dry carpet cleaner. The Mold word is included in the speech, new technology, deep cleaning and of course dry in 1-2 hours. The only thing the novice needs now is a small car to carry the floor buffer in the trunk.

There is one benefit I suppose to the property manager or apartment manager that is looking to get a carpet to look clean for a quick turn around and not pay very much because this method is cheap. This is why many renters are perplexed when they can not figure out why the carpets got so dirty after a month and giant spill spots all returned in black.

The bad thing is not only did the dirt only get buffed deeper into the carpet and rearranged throughout each room but the terrible carpet cleaning chemical was left behind in a residual state. That’s right, there are unknown sticky chemical residues in the carpet or chemical residues that flake off & go airborne for you to breathe.

Yeah, sure, the carpet dried in 1-2 hours, it was cheaper than truck mount steam flush, rinse & extraction cleaning, but you got left with the dirt so really you didn’t get what is defined as CLEAN. Whooops, I forgot about the guy that claims this service is green & leaves no residues. There are a few out there that claim this. Green because they don’t use fossil fuel but plug into your electricity and do not want to know what really generates that electricity. In their warped view, the use of electricity over rides safety & hygiene for the consumer. Leaving a chemical residue, the dirt & the bacteria for you is okay and saving the planet with that check you just wrote for what you assumed was Carpet CLEANING is what they are all about.

Now here is the thing, at </a, I truck mount each residential job with a large unit that is capable of consistently cleaning at 240 degree hot water temperatures with a large volume water Flush & Rinse. The system cleans to the top of your carpet backing never getting the backing wet, 98% of the moisture is removed and my signature Rapid Speed Dry service leaves your carpets dry to the touch when I'm done. Even without my Rapid Speed dry service you will get faster dry times than you would get with the Dry Carpet Cleaner.

Now when it comes to Green, Organic & Natural Carpet Cleaning I have that handled with the safest cleaners around. They are all matched to the clients needs & the carpet fiber. They are all applied to the carpet as the pre-conditioner then steam cleaned away with pure soft water to leave you with true Zero Residue Carpet Cleaning. There is no empowered water with a secret proprietory ingredient, just water for a softer, healthier and stress free carpet cleaning

Sure, the economy is bad, no, it’s tragic! In this economy it doesn’t pay to get a quick, soapy sticky residue and soaked San Diego carpet cleaning.

Quick, cheap “Splash & Dash” carpet cleaners save a lot of man hours by skipping important cleaning steps, taking drastic short cuts just to knock out a job quick to match the low price offered. Many times you will end up with the very typical Bait & Switch, the hidden fees & the high pressure add on sales to make up.

The very typical speedy service is to forget the very important pre conditioning step, turn up the water pressure, run in to your home with the carpet wand a blazing while running the cleaning agent through the rinse water. Saves a lot of time and with the water pressure set high the cleaning process will go by quick. It’s really easy & leaves you with the disgusting chemical & soapy residues. Your carpets will attract new soil as soon as it’s done. Add to that mess – soaked carpets that don’t dry for a few days and you will need your carpets cleaned again.

Why waste money trying to skip the quality just for a cheap thrill price when you can get things done right the first time around.

Right now I’m offering a traffic lane maintenance carpet cleaning special where I will clean around your furniture and clean your traffic lanes for a great savings at: $99 for 4 areas, $120 for 5 areas. This will keep your carpets fresh and with my zero residue cleaning process there is no chance of rapid re-soiling. This service includes: preconditioner, spot & stain treatment. This service does not include furniture moving or my rapid speed dry service.

If you are looking for that complete Spring Cleaning then try my one time $38 a room special with a minimum of 3 rooms. The complete service includes:pre-conditioning, spot treatment, stain treatment and my rapid speed dry service.

Take advantage of this before 5/15/2012. I promise you that this isn’t your average “splash & dash” quick cleaning process.

When it comes to Carpet Cleaning there are so many methods to choose from even though there is only one (1) method approved by almost all carpet manufacturers. Carpet manufacturers do warranty their product and so have certain requirements to keep that warranty in force.

When choosing a Carpet Cleaning Company In San Diego you must look for a company that performs the Hot Water Extraction method. This method is used to utilize high heat, high pressure water and high pressure vacuum to recover the water used. This is best served by a company that uses Truck mounted units. Many times Portable machines are used but do not have adequate pressure or heat but they are not to be discounted because they are the tool of choice for High Rise buildings where the truck mounted unit can no go.

Hot Water Extraction is simular to the way you would wash anything else that you want clean – flush & rinse, just like your laundry. Cleaning with the high temperatures assist in getting the best to closest sanitizing effect to kill those living things in the carpet and much of the bacteria.

Dry Cleaning methods vary in many methods from Dry Foam Shampoo, Powders and even Floor Buffers that buff the carpet. They have Zero Flush & Rinse Capabilities, do not create heat effectual enough to do any good and they have almost zero extraction capabilities. This method is commonly used for many commercial thin glue down carpets that are made of plastic. The dirt & residues that they leave behind do not constitute the definition of clean in any respect except to provide a cleaner appearance. Unfortunately e, this method is used by low budget Carpet Cleaners to avoid expensive equipment costs & the intensive labor involved from Hot Water Extraction. The bad thing is that the unaware consumer gets passed along their savings by giving you something you had hoped was the definition of “Clean”. Imagine your carpet that has not been cleaned for 12 months that is full of foot oils, soils that have stuck to the sticky oily residue, maybe a little vomit over there, some various spills here and some pet urine over there. Now here comes a Dry Carpet Cleaner with a Floor Buffer that is designed to shine floors. He sprays his magic potion on the carpet (preconditioner), puts a nylon or cotton pad under the buffer and starts to buff the carpet. Where is that dirt going and where is that chemical that was sprayed onto the carpet going? What about the bacteria & dust mites? My point is that rearranging the dirt is not a true definition of cleaning. These methods use aggressive brushes that frizz carpet fibers, snag & pull yarns and Floor Buffers Bloom the tips of carpet fibers. This is damage and your warranty is void with these methods.

Our method is to provide a gentle high flow flush & rinse process of 210-240 degree soft water to remove all the soils and bacteria along with the residues of our non-toxic organic preconditioner. This truck mounted process is gentle and extremely thorough and leaves your carpets residue free which means they don’t resoil quickly as with Dry Carpet Cleaning methods that leave nothing but chemical residues.

The major claim of Dry Carpet Cleaning methods is to leave you dry. This is because there are sloppy quick “Splash & Dash” carpet cleaners out there that use the Hot Water Extraction method. Those exceptional deals such as “5 rooms for $99″ must be completed in 30-40 minutes to make a profit. Our cleaning technique is not like that since we as many have optimized cleaning units & tools for the 21st century and we employ our signature Rapid Speed Dry Process to leave your carpets Dry to the touch when we are done. Our dry times beat any Dry Cleaning process.

For your next Carpet Cleaning why not do the research on the one that you would like to come out and make sure that you are getting True Carpet Cleaning.

One of the worse things that can happen during any carpet cleaning is to over wet the carpet & drive contaminates & chemical residues into the carpet pad. Unfortunately, these machines are good at that and also for leaving the chemical residues on the surface of the carpet.

I know, it’s sounds like a desperate attempt to make you call me instead of doing it yourself.

You have to remember that it takes heat along with a good pre-conditioner to break down dirty greasy soils with a good Flush & Rinse action of a large amount of water along with extreme powerful vacuum pressure to do all of this without even penetrating the carpet backing.

Sure the home machines make it wet & suck out dirty water but how much dirty water was left in the carpet? What kind of residues were left. How much water made it into the pad?

Remember, whatever reached that pad will wick back up especially when the carpet is wet. There could be years of dirty water, spill, pet urine & you name it down there.

I have cleaned carpets that have been cleaned this way by the homeowner for years and I have come along and ran into the problems. Most of the time I get a real bad foam problem from all the soapy residue in the carpet and getting that fully removed, most of the time it takes more than one cleaning to fully remove it. The next problem I find are discolored carpets due to some very high ph cleaners that were left in the carpet and never removed.

Getting your carpets Truck Mount Steam cleaned by a High Flow Flush & Rinse system will ensure that your carpets are thoroughly cleaned and residue free. This will also greatly extend the life of the carpet.

Remember that we in San Diego county have a lot of sand that we bring in everywhere. Those oily, sticky traffic lanes that have dirt attracting residue will attract & hold these damaging pollutants. The result will be scratched/worn carpet fibers that will appear to be dirty.

These areas should be vacuumed on a regular basis and protected with a quality carpet protector.

MIRACLE SERVICES DRY CARPET CLEANING

The most important step in any carpet cleaning process is to get the carpets dry as much as possible. I’m not talking several hours or days, that is unhealthy. My signature service has always been to get your carpets dry to the touch by the time I leave your home even if I Truck Mount steam cleaned your carpets.

We term our Rapid Speed Dry service as our Flash Dry process. We use the very unique Airpath downdraft fans which blow air across the carpet fibers at a full 360 degrees. These high tech fans pull the warm air that rises to the ceiling into the fan and rapidly dries your carpet fibers.

One of the biggest reasons carpet cleaners get call backs to correct things is due to things that wick back to the surface. Spots, spills, pet stains and many times just plain dirt. You have probably heard of someone that you know who had a horrifying carpet cleaning experience where the carpet took days to dry & after it dried the spots/spills all came back and not only is it dirtier now that it’s dry but it also smells.

You see, all of those spots, the spills, the pet stains, or anything else that soaked the carpet has made it’s way to the carpet pad which is a sponge. Even your last over soaked carpet cleaning has helped contaminate that sponge. Those do-it-yourself machines over soak your carpets & much of that dirty water combined with the sticky soapy chemical residues have penetrated the pad.

When I clean your carpets I first determine your carpet fiber and adjust water pressure and vacuum for that particular carpet fiber. Wool carpet holds much moisture, Nylon does also but not as much as wool and a polyester carpet holds very little. With carpet fibers such as polyester we use Moisture Control since it easy to lose control of the moisture & have it pass through the backing where we never will go.

When the carpet pad or the backing gets wet then there will be issues of things that wick to the surface. So just imagine what is in the pad – pet urine, vomit, drink spills, pulverized soils, carpet powder deodorizer, and of course the bacteria. Have you ever had your carpet clean & after the carpet cleaner left, you wiped your hand across the soaked carpet fibers and smelled your hand? Didn’t smell too good did it! This is what has started to wick to the surface.

For this reason and that I am there to truly clean your carpet in the first place, I ensure that the carpets are dry to the touch when I leave. We don’t need any bacteria on the tips of the carpet fibers!

Filtration lines are those dark, grayish, black lines that may appear on carpet along the baseboards or under doors. Here in San Diego we don’t have clean air no matter how you like to think so. In addition to the air pollution that rolls in from Mexico, we have sticky jet fuel downtown, we have dust from East County and along with exhaust emission we also have tire particulate pollution from areas around freeway. We also create our own indoor pollution with candles, the fireplace, gas stoves, incense, and smoking. This has become a common problem today because homes are much more air tight than in the past.

Are walls have about 1/2 – 3/4″ gap before they meet the sub floor and it is here where the carpet get stuffed once it’s tacked. Stairs have plywood gaps, mobile homes also have a large center line gap and many upstairs rooms where air is inhaled & exhaled on a continuous basis. when we use our heating or air conditioning system we introduce the pressures & force these areas to breathe.

The end result of this continuous breathing of your home is a collection depot of the very fine deposits of pollutants that get trapped in these areas. Another factor is the charge that gets applied to these areas. Think of these areas as a charged filter like the old Ionic Breeze machine. You know, the walls had a mysterious of black stain that wouldn’t come off.

You will notice on many white or light colored carpets that you get these lines under doors that are normally kept closed and air is filtered under the door. You will also see the charge effect where drapes or closet doors run across the carpet on a regular basis.

The soiling condition can occur quickly, or it may develop over a period of months or years. The level of soiling is dependent upon the volume of airflow and the level of pollutants in the air.

Filtration lines may appear around baseboards, under doors, along the edges of stairs and possibly away from walls where plywood sub flooring materials have been joined. It may also occur under the skirting of furniture. Generally, the concentrated air flow will be from an upper level to a lower level of the home.

As said, filtration soiling can occur under closed interior doors where a central heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC) system is utilized. When possible, open interior doors to reduce filtration soiling that may develop under closed doors while the HVAC system is in operation.

While no one cleaning technique may be successful in all filtration soiling situations, recent innovations in soil- and stain-resist treatments applied to carpet have reduced the effort previously needed to remove the filtration soil. However, the complete removal of contaminants from the soiled areas can be complicated, depending on the type of contaminant materials present. To achieve the best results, the services of a cleaning professional should be considered.

Filtration soil is a complex mix of very fine even microscopic chemical particulates such as carbon, sulfur, oxides and silica soil plus oils. This very fine soil strongly attaches to carpet fibers and are not always removable.

I don’t know about you but my home is my refuge from the pollution and the world outside. I like my air clean, I like the dirt kept outside and I want the chemical exposure kept to a minimum.

The biggest air filter in our homes – our carpets, collect and hold contaminates on a daily basis waiting for you to remove with the vacuum. The sticky, greasy soil that you can’t remove ends up attracts soil and that is when you need me.

Certain carpet fiber types require certain cleaners to break down grease where that particular fiber loves to hold the oily soils. Other fibers are very easy to clean of oily soils but love to stain, while other fibers are very sensitive to what is used to clean them with. The task is to use something that is safe for me, safe for you and your carpet fibers in order to remove all of that.

Carpet Cleaners have access to many safe cleaning agents today but they require a few additional steps at times in order to achieve what the hazardous speed cleaning chemicals can achieve. I don’t know of too many cleaners that use them anymore because many of us are not only concerned for your health and ours but also for any liability issues.

There have been some great advances in Carpet Cleaning equipment & tools that allow for very thorough flush & rinse of carpets that mean you get optimum cleaning results today. Residues of preconditioners are completely rinsed away. Getting a Green cleaning service with a Green preconditioner applied to your carpets and then completely flushed & rinsed away along with the soil means no more chemical or soap residues left in your carpet.

Our flush & rinse system actually rinses away the residues from your last carpet cleaner, especially if you had the Chemical Dry method used on your carpets last service where there was no extraction process. Although we use much more water in order to get your carpets to a total zero residue clean it is worth it. The old ways of high pressure rinsing with the older tools meant that some of the preconditioners were left deep in the carpet fibers. The dry cleaning methods have always been a culprit at rearranging the soil along with the cleaning chemicals because they have zero extraction capability except for very little absorption. There is no rinse action with these methods.

Carpet Cleaning doesn’t have to dirty that way, it can be healthy and safe. Keeping the bad chemicals out the equation just for the sake of saving a little more time is a good thing for you and for us. All of our residential service is Truck Mounted Steam Cleaning. We always use a High Flow Flush & Rinse system to leave your home healthier than it was before we got there.

Our definition of “Clean” is the true definition and this is why our service is much slower than the last that you may have had. New clients all the time are perplexed when they get a 2.5 – 3 hour service estimate. Like I said, it’s all about the Flush & Rinse not the Splash & Dash or the Dry Clean Scrub & Run.

Before I explain to you what Dry Foam is let us first decide what we want to accomplished during a carpet cleaning. We want to remove the soil, make your carpets look absolutely clean and leave you with zero soap or chemical residues.

So, in your home with a nice thick carpet that you like to walk on with bare feet, sit on, lie on or have the kids & pets play on, why would you want DRY FOAM chemical residue or soil left behind? Could it be because you read someone’s FEAR MARKETING that had the same old scare that ” Water is Evil & Dry is Good”? I do provide Dry Foam Extraction Carpet Cleaning but I do my best to educate the customer with the facts. I do get a lot of Dry Foam Shampoo requests. Once I explain the process the customer will elect to have us Steam Clean the carpets. They are often worried of long dry times & wet carpet backings that will cause damage to wood sub-floors. This is not a problem because we don’t get the backing wet & we get the carpets dryer than we could ever get them if we did use the Dry Foam method. Quality Truckmount Carpet Cleaning achieves rapid dry times today when accomplished by a professional.

Every Carpet Cleaning should have Health as the first priority! That means removing the soils and leaving no residues in the carpet. Leaving the residue means new soil is attracted, it also means foreign substances are left behind that you will eventually breathe as it goes airborne.

Our procedure provides you with:

1. Healthy Carpet Cleaning service, Zero Residue left behind, total soil removal.
2. Carpet Cleaning that is gentle on carpet fibers as to not distort or unwind carpet fibers, in other words we don’t a damaged carpet.
3. Carpets that dry fast in just hours & not days. We don’t want several gallons of water left in the carpet after we leave.

What is Dry Foam Carpet cleaning? First let’s define Dry Foam Shampoo – it’s a shampoo of various types from encapsulation shampoo to plain old cheap sticky soap shampoo. The shampoo is mixed up or generated into a foam, since it is whipped up into a foam it was assigned the term Dry Shampoo for some reason!

There are two (2) forms: Dry Foam Extraction & Dry Foam Shampoo (there is zero extraction).

The Dry Foam extraction system that has been used for the last 30 plus years extracts 1/3 of all shampoo solution applied. The rest remains in the carpet along with the dirt. If it is an encapsulating shampoo then it is believed that the remaining dirt is surrounded & encapsulated by the shampoo. When it dries it is claimed that you remove it when you vacuum the carpets 24 hours later.

The Dry Foam Shampoo (non-extraction) method uses a Floor Buffer machine with a Foam Generator that makes Dry Foam & scrubs it into the carpet leaving it behind and with the soil. Sometimes a nylon bonnet is used to absorb some of the soil & chemical shampoo and most of it remains behind.

Since residential carpets are much more plush than low level looped commercial glue down carpets there are just too many places residues can get trapped & so many places soil can hide. For this reason we Flush & Rinse these carpets clean via Truckmount Steam Cleaning. This is Deep Carpet Cleaning.

Dry Foam Carpet Cleaning takes anywhere from 1-6 hours to dry depending on the carpet fiber & whether it is commercial or residential. Truckmount carpet cleaning is about the same when done professionally.

Why is Dry Foam still used? Low start-up cost for the carpet cleaning business, it is not very labor intensive & more money can be made faster. We have it because we have a full tool box, many times we use this system in conjunction with other methods or as Power Scrub step prior to Truckmount Steam Cleaning on a very dirty job.

Our experience is that we leave 3% of the moisture behind. Our High Flow Flush & Rinse system ensures that your carpets are flushed from top to bottom, you can forget any residue being left behind. With this system carpets are left soft & fluffy instead of hard & crunchy.

Let’s focus on the word EXTRACTION, this is what Truckmount systems do! That means the dust mites, their feces, bacteria, fleas, soil & whatever else you have actually gets removed instead of being left behind. Since Dry Foam cleaning does not extract that much so much of all of this is left behind on top of a chemical residue load. Would you really have your babies lay on the carpet a few days after having this type of service?

I have & use all methods & systems, I have no bias except for what I know what works best, unfortunatly Truckmount Steam Cleaning is superiour for ResidentalCarpet Cleaning service. If the easier methods worked well such as Dry Foam then I would much rather use that & save on expensive truckmount steam equipment costs. It would be so nice not to have to run out hundreds of feet of hose and all the other equipment that is required but the fact is the dirt has to get removed and so do the chemical & soap residues. Because of this fact Truckmount Steam Cleaning is the only method that can truly clean your carpets.

In the past to be able to protect your carpets from stains & pre-mature wear (scratch) a carcinogenic & hazardous chemical had to be applied – Teflon – Scotchguard.

Those days are now over because today there is a safer way to protect your carpet investment: GREEN Carpet Protector.

<a href=”http://www.miracleserv.com/index.php” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”> Miracle Services, Inc.</a> Carpet & Floor Care now provides a safer alternative to Teflon & Scotchguard.

Our Miracle Protector is not only Safe for all living inhabitants but also for the planet. It is certified by the Synapse Handbook of Green Chemical Raw Ingredients, 2nd edition.

Cleaning Carpet is less expensive than replacing it. Today is not the time to invest in new carpet replacement costs. We that live in San Diego have to deal with a large amount of sand that damages carpet fibers by scratching them. Truckmount Carpet Steam Cleaning removes the particulate soils – sand & grit that you can not by normal vacuuming. Our powerful high pressure vacuum system will remove the deepest & most stubborn particulate soils.

Once your carpets have been deep cleaned it is time to apply that carpet protector to protect your carpet fibers from possible stains, provide you time to wipe up spills before they absorb into carpet fibers, fill in the scratched fibers, help keep your carpets cleaner longer & ensure periodic carpet cleaning are successful without staining or excessive wear.

Normally we like to reapply the carpet protector at the 3rd cleaning but depending on your location in the county & the carpet fiber type we may recommend that you have it reapplied. It is really best to have it applied to the traffic lanes after every cleaning service.

I get the calls every week – “what method of cleaning do you use” and I have to reply – ” I use them all but I will always recommend Truckmounted Steam Cleaning“.

Many of those callers will recite to me the Fear Marketing Spin that the Chemical Dry company used to use: Wet Evil, Dry Good.

I’m a patient man but I have problems with people who can not use common sense & basically are sheep. We must think everything through before we make decisions and before we take anyone’s marketing or advertisements for gospel truth, we must do our research!

Before you get agitated at me let me explain a few things to you. I use all methods of cleaning, I have almost every system there is, just ask my wife who is barely able to fit her car into our garage and ask her what she thinks of me for investing in useless equipment that collects dust.

I started my business with all methods and cut my teeth on commercial carpet for a lot of years trying to perfect it. I have used & tried everything over the years and I can & will give you an unbiased opinion based on what I know first hand.

All methods are good for something and can be used successfully. Only one method is recommended by the majority of all carpet manufacturers and those that warranty the product. The single method carpet cleaner is biased & has become a cult member to his/her method & will convince themselves that they have found a miracle method. Some are smart enough to realize that the method they use does no really work but it is cheap & saves them on overhead. Experience carpet cleaners that are in this to exceed & provide quality cleaning use many methods or a combination of methods.

Hot Water Extraction(HWE) comes in two forms – Portable electric machines or Fossil Fuel powered truck-mounted machines with positive displacement vacuum blowers to provide you extreme powerful vacuum suction able to rinse carpets of large volumes of water that is required to flush & rinse them clean. High heat is provided by heat exchange units or fuel sourced heaters. Portable machines are no match for Truckmounted units but are better than nothing when the truck can not reach. The problem with portable machines is that they require electricity & have a habit of tripping breaker so that the high power that is required for portable machines can not be manufactured, instead low power is used to keep these machines operational.

The bottom line is Flush, Rinse, Extraction, Extraction, Extraction! Yes, a large volume of water must be used to properly clean anything. You know this because you have washed your hair in the shower before, try that with a Dry Cleaning process & let me know how that went.

Next, we want the carpet to Dry Fast! After all that water flush & rinse action it should dry fast because not only was all the dirt rinsed out but so was all that water! if done right by a professional – operator then it will dry fast.

So, not only do we use the evil water to flush & rinse your carpets clean of all soil, bacteria & residue, we also get them Dry Quick, by the time we leave or very close to it! How much quicker than the Dry Cleaner? Just as fast! The only difference is that we used a large amount of water to ensure that it was clean & residue free!.

The Dry Cleaning Process – uses very little moisture, some call it “Low Moisture” but it isn’t. The rage is to apply a very fine mist of a Chemical application & rub it in with a high speed Floor Buffer like Janitors use to polish floors. This is the cheap mans method, costs very little to operate and removes very little soil! This method alone does not equate to clean! Where did the soil go, where did the chemical go? There is no extraction process instead the dirt just gets rearranged. Several cheap start-up companies go this way & rely on the old Fear Marketing Scams to pimp these methods. You hear fear language like Mold, Wet, Damage & Shrinkage. Common sense tells you that mold requires an organic environment to grow & survive but 99% of all residential carpet is Synthetic, Wet, you betcha, it takes water to get it clean but not wet for long! Damage, the 2nd most important reason that Floor Buffer Dry Cleaning will void your warranty besides it not really cleaning is that it will Damage your carpet fibers by Blooming the Tips of the fiber tips, I see it every day. Truckmount Carpet Steam Cleaning does not damage seams or carpet fibers because of the gentle cleaning method rather than the heavy aggressive floor buffer method. As far as Shrinkage goes, well as you probably already know: Synthetic Fibers do not Shrink! This is all 50′s & 60″s rhetoric that has been used over & over like a broken record from those that continue to use & operate ancient technology & try to spin it into a “New Trend Hi-Tech” cleaning method that has been just discovered.

With all the methods & systems that I have you must ask yourself why a 51 year old Carpet Cleaner would rather use a very labor intensive method of cleaning, a very expensive system to operate & much more time consuming compared to Dry Cleaning? It just does not make sense right? I sleep at nights knowing that I provided the very best for my clients, I’d rather take the cheap and easy route, make more money faster but it isn’t right! If you want another method of cleaning & I can’t talk you out of it then I will provide you the method of your choice.

You want the dirt removed, You want no residue left in the carpet, You want is safe, You want it done professionally & You want it to dry fast. Do yourself a favor if you doubt me, call me after you have it Dry Cleaned & let me clean 1 room for you and I will give you back the dirty water I extracted, you can then decide if you are still skeptical.

There are soon to be restrictions on water use, mandatory conservation & possible fines for those who exceed their allotted use. This will greatly effect Deep , Zero Residue, Carpet Carpet Cleaning in San Diego!

We are a Multi Method Carpet Cleaning company that uses all forms, methods & systems of carpet cleaning. The most labor intensive method but the most thorough method that actually removes soils & restores carpets is Truck-Mounted Steam Cleaning. This is the method that nearly all carpet manufacturers recommend for a very good reason – to protect the product that they back up with their warranty! It also provides you with the cleanest carpet cleaning available. This method uses a large volume of water to Flush & Rinse your dirty carpets of soils, bacteria, dust mites, pollens & residues.

There are a few other methods but so many systems. Each has a certain level of cleaning & this is why we use Truck-Mount steam cleaning as our primary service. We prefer to take the harder route & Deep Clean all carpets via the Truck-Mount System for ethical reasons & to provide our clients with truly clean carpets free of chemical, soap & soil residues!

Now, since we have or will have water use restrictions, how will we work this out? Well, we do have Low Flow tools on our truck to provide Truckmount steam cleaning with half the amount of water that we would normally use compared to our High Flow tools. We can cut the water usage in half! This means sacrifice of that total Flush & Rinse of carpeting. This will mean that carpets will have to be cleaned on a very regular basis. This will effect those real dirty situations! Because of this we will deploy our Low Moisture system to clean the carpet in a Dry Cleaning style to break down & dissolve soils, absorb them in our special cotton towel system, then conduct a Low Moisture Steam Clean to flush & rinse out the soils & detergents with much less water as we would normally.

For those situations & depending on the water restrictions that require extreme water conservation we will have to use our Low Moisture Extraction method. This process is still Green & Natural, uses 10 times less water than steam cleaning & Dries in less than an hour, normally bone dry by the time I leave. I have used this system for years but it is still a fact that it is inferior to Truck-Mount Steam cleaning.

The Quality Carpet Cleaners Network here in San Diego has made drastic changes to provide San Diego with superb Low Moisture Extraction carpet cleaning! Our emphasis in on Zero Residue Deep Cleaning. We know that Dry Cleaning regardless of how you spin it will leave a chemical residue in your carpet if it is not removed by an extraction process. We do not nor will we employ Dry Carpet Cleaning in the home! There is too much residue left behind on the residential scene by these Chemical Dry Cleaning companies! We in no way recommend Encapsulation cleaning in the home due to it’s chemical residue that is left behind for you to vacuum up! We consider this a Dry Cleaning method!

For your water restrictions in the very near future, we have you covered for the best deep carpet cleaning!

Today more & more people are becoming aware of the effects of a chemical laden environment and especially in their homes. Our homes are our refuge so why wouldn’t we want that sanctuary protected. It is a fact that today more & more people & especially children are developing respiratory illnesses or sensitivities.

My own awareness is heightened because I work with various carpet cleaners on a daily basis and am subject to a much more concentrated level than my clients are. That is my reason for ensuring that only the safest items are carried on the truck and brought into the home – to protect myself. If I have myself covered then I know I have you the consumer covered.

We have improved our carpet cleaning technique by using high flow, flush & rinse tools & equipment to provide a much deeper carpet & upholstery cleaning. It is true that today we use a much higher volume of water than before to achieve our complete deep cleaning process but what we have gained is true hygiene. For the sake of a few more gallons of water isn’t it worth it for our health?

Unlike many, we do not run a detergent, soaps, or an emulsifier through our fresh water system but rather soft water. We apply a mild cleaning solution to your carpet before we steam clean that can also be our Green or Organic soap free natural product at your request. This small amount of cleaning solution breaks down the greasy, sticky soils & helps suspend soils until we Truck Mount Steam Clean the carpet to extract the soils, particulates, dust mites & bacteria. The high flow flush & rinse system does an extreme thorough rinse of your carpet fibers leaving them almost dry and soft instead of crunchy. Our extreme high heat system delivers the super heated water directly onto the carpet rather than letting the heat escape into the air. We deliver at least 220-240 directly onto your carpet which kills many things such as bacteria, dust mites & fleas. The higher the heat the quicker the water evaporates which means faster dry times.

The typical complaints from rapid carpet re-soiling to the crunchy effect comes from the lack of chemical & soap residue removal either from the type of carpet cleaning method used or the use of soaps & chemicals in the rinse tank. You get this service traditionally from your cheap guy carpet cleaning service where cleaning speed makes up for dollar loss, many use floor buffers to dry clean your carpets which do nothing but buff into the carpet their chemical & your dirt. Very little soil gets recovered but you get a free load of chemical residue, some even claim it is 100% carbonated water but have you asked for the MSDS sheet to verify this?

There are many great Carpet Cleaners that have your Health at the top of their priority list. Let’s face it, leaving behind an unhealthy carpet will create a negetive effect for both of us. Getting you on our client list is the way we operate, keeping ourselves healthy and happy is the only way to do it. There is no way that I would ever clean your homes carpet with a floor buffer alone or run my chemical cleaners through my rinse to get it clean just to save a little time! Sure, the temporary smoke & mirror effect will make it look good but not for long.

Residue Free Cleaning is a technique that we use for a Healthier Carpet Cleaning experience at Miracle Services, Inc.

Cat Urine, Dog Urine, and I have even had Pig Urine jobs, are all very problematic. Pets are great and even I have succumbed into having dogs in my home and have learned how to deal with it.

Cat urine is the worst to deal with & I know that the removal of the odor completely is impossible regardless of whether you have gone through all the extreme measures to remedy the situations short of carpet & pad replacement. I have done everything possible to remedy cat urine problems in the past but I have never seen a miracle. I have seen such cases where the owner replaced carpets, pads, seal floors, seal walls with new paint & clean ventilation system. The smell was still obvious until the ventilation system was sealed with a phenolic sealer.

Dog urine problems have been better to deal with. With any urine problem it is all about what the pet eats & for those reason dog urine is not so traumatic as cats. As a carpet cleaner I am no longer a cat lover.

San Diego Carpet Cleaners deal with pet urine on a daily basis with almost every home we clean. Some even guarantee the removal of the odor & the urine. I used to do that but I have learned that it is impossible and that every situation is different because some home owners clean up the problem ASAP & some don’t. I never make it a point to own your problem but do my best to cure your problem.

Just cleaning the carpet will not remedy anything until the pad is addressed! The carpet pad is a sponge, it is where all those spills went to. The really large spills or urine deposits pass through the pad to the sub floor and spread out along the sub floor or absorb if it is a wood sub floor. Crystallized, gewey spills just hang out down there until temperature changes occur between the sub floor & the area above the carpet, moisture developes & a wicking process occurs. This is why the spots reappear after you clean it, this is why carpet cleaners get a bad name because the spill spots come back a few months later.

Miracle Services Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care takes a different plan of action on these areas by doing sub surface flush & rinse of spills & pet stains. We try to flush out the total spill by saturation, cleaning & true deodorization. Then we get those areas Flash Dried with our special carpet Rapid Speed Dry system.

We are Truck Mounted Carpet Steam Cleaning, there is no way that urine or odors can be removed by Carpet Dry Cleaning processes! It requires serious flush & rinse with powerful carpet cleaning extraction.

There are two types of carpet that are normally used for the residence and that is Nylon & Polyester. Nylon is the best & polyester is the inferior but nylon likes to stain. Urine if not neutralized will turn from an acidic state to an alkaline state and will start to burn the carpet fibers leaving you with a brown burn stain. Polyester is more forgiving in this regard!

We have certain chemicals to reduce these stains & hopefully remove them but sometimes may require an insert to remove the eye sore.

The total removal of odor will require the removal of all effected areas of the pad, cleaning & sealing of the sub floor. The carpet backing needs to be cleaned & then the carpet. Even after these extreme measures I have seen the odor still present but in a much lesser amount.

Our common sense approach is to remove the urine, saturate with special odorcides & deodorizers to reduce the problem for you. I then sell a follow-up treatment for you to continually apply to the areas the pet lies or happens to urinate. I will even recommend that you purchase an Austin Air cleaning machine from me: http://www.austinair.com/, these are great at removing odors from the home trust me.

We use some of the best pet odorcide in the industry and you will find that at only $12.00 per room it is a great deal. I always recommend that you buy a bottle of it from me to do your own follow ups. One 16 oz. of concentrate makes up to 32 gallons of odorcide.

We

There are a lot of definitions of “Green” and it has become a new cult religion with Al Gore as it’s $$$ prospering guru. Everyone wants Green regardless whether it is or not because it makes them feel like they did something good.

In the carpet cleaning world I define it this way: Maintaining cleaning standards by using “Human Safe” products and eliminating any cleaning residues! There are so called “Green” products that are not Human Safe but they are acceptable for the environment. Citrus Cleaners contain a natural solvent that are harmful to us but natural to the planet so are many other poisons. Certain Chemicals are considered to be green since they do not bother the environment. These type of green cleaners contain warnings & hazards to us.

There are methods of carpet cleaning that involve Floor Buffers that many call Dry Carpet Cleaning. A chemical is applied to the carpet and buffed into the carpet with the dirt. They use a nylon bonnet on the bottom of the machine to buff with and will claim that this removes the dirt but common sense says not so! They claim this Green Carpet Cleaning because they arrived to your home with a small fuel efficient vehicle since carrying a Floor Buffer doesn’t require a large vehicle and the method of what they claim - cleaning only requires a couple gallons of water. Sure the carbon foot print is smaller while using your electricity to clean with (which requires fuel at the other end) and they are proud to have saved water. But at what expense to you?

We take the approach that we are providing a Human Safe & Hygiene service. Removing the the dirt, pet urine, feces, bacteria and everything else that exists in your carpet is important to your indoor environmental health. This requires water. By applying our “true” Green & Organic or Non-Toxic cleaning solutions to your carpet & then flushing, rinsing and extracting all of that away with water we leave you without the typical chemical residues. I don’t have to worry about working with hazardous chemicals and you don’t have to worry about hazardous cleaning chemical residues.

Everything that we use is carefully checked by the ingredients list and the MSDS sheet. Since Green sells & is big money it is up to us to do our own research and verification and use common sense.

I’m not a Green Freak by any means, I just don’t like nasty chemicals and since my job involves being around that kind of thing I have made the choice & commitment to find a better way. This requires an assortment of specialty tools and methods.

When we come to your home we evaluate the carpet fiber type, soil condition and your special health requirements. Then we apply the correct cleaning solution that is either completely Natural/Organic, our Green solution or our Non-Toxic solution for those extreme dirty situations.

Whatever we use you count on Human Safe products first & then for the environment. Trust me on this – If it is Human Safe then it is environmentally safe! If it was all labeled that way then there wouldn’t be such a mystery.

On this page we will talk about the different materials that carpets are commonly made from and the benefits and negatives of each type.

Olefin (Polypropylene)

Olefin carpet is generally a lower cost carpet. It has many positive traits however. One is that it absorbs very little moisture and because of that, it is hard to stain. It is also usually solution dyed. Solution dyed Olefin cannot be bleached because the color runs all the way through the fiber, not just on the surface. As for the negative, it has a very low melting point. Olefin can often be melted just by dragging a piece of furniture across it. It also has an affinity towards grease so it attracts grease and oil like a magnet. Olefin also crushes very easily, meaning that traffic lanes will appear flat and matted rather quickly.

Nylon

The most common carpet fiber. Nylon is much more durable than Olefin and also slightly more expensive. It doesn’t have the same attraction to grease but it will stain easier unless treated with a good protectant. Nylon is usually etched and dyed after it is produced so the color is only on the surface and can be bleached. Some solution dyed nylons are now available though to solve this problem. A solution dyed nylon carpet may be one of the most durable carpets made.

Wool

Wool carpet is very expensive but is also very durable. It resists matting and crushing and normal traffic soiling cleans well. It is also very soft to the touch and has a very vibrant color. Some wools can shrink if over wet and staining from some spills can be a problem. Also some may be allergic to wool since it is after all fur. Wool is only available as a staple fiber. With staple fibers the individual tufts are essentially gathered bunches of loose threads and have a tendency to shed.

There are several methods of carpet cleaning available from several hundreds of carpet cleaning companies in San Diego County. There are the most inexpensive cleaning methods on the carpet cleaning company – low overhead or the most expensive cleaning method on the carpet cleaning company – high overhead.

Your low overhead methods are also very easy & require less amount of labor intensity. Your higher overhead methods require high labor intensity.

Is it rocket science that the high labor intensive method, high overhead method – Truckmounted Steam Cleaning cleans carpet rather than leave large amounts of soil & chemical residues in the carpet? Are Truck mounted carpet steam cleaners stupid & uneducated to take the higher road rather than the cheaper road?

I am an all method carpet cleaning company in San Diego – Miracle Services, Inc. I have used Dry Cleaning methods for years and I can give you an honest unbiased opinion. My tool box is complete with every tool for the job & I don’t have to try & put a spin on my single tool/method to try & get you to buy off on it. I would love to work on a shoe string budget & put more money in my pocket but for business ethics & moral purposes I prefer to provide a true product of CLEAN!

Old 1950′s technology is still being used today – Janitor Floor Buffers & old Shampoo Machines. Carpet warranties state that these other methods will void your warranty, you should read it. Ask yourself why in the world would they only recommend Truckmounted steam cleaning?

Sure the Dry Cleaning companies use the fear marketing that the Chemical-Dry Franchise started to scare the heck out of you – Soaked carpets for weeks & Mold! They have even gone as far as to state that the carpets will rot & shrink. Well, synthetic carpet will not shrink, it will not rot because it is organic & for that same reason it will not grow mold. True, cheap carpet cleaning companies with portable machines or even inexperienced cheap truckmount companies will not take the time to clean your carpets & remove all the water – you get what you pay for, too good to be prices are always too good to be true since time began.

Ironic that the same Chemical-Dry franchise company that now works for Home Depot now uses Truckmounted Steam Cleaning. Oh, they have changed the name so as not to be hypocritical to Hot Carbonated Extraction and use a Jet Rotary Extractor as many of us do but it is Truckmounted Steam Cleaning. Why did they go this route? Could it be that the cheap Dry Cleaning method did not work, consumers got tired of the carpets looking dirty again 2 days later & all the spots resurfacing? Could it be that too many consumers asked themselves “how does the dirt get removed”?

Yes, truck mounted steam cleaning with it’s powerful gas engine, powerful solution pump, powerful postive displacenet vacuum pump, super hot water heater is the only to clean carpets – period. Why? To break down, suspend soils & extract them, bacteria, pollens, dust mites & you name it that is in your carpet stright out into the truck to take it away. You get carpets that are flushed free of chemical residues from the last Dry Cleaner and fresh carpets that have been totally rinsed & free of soil & residues.

What about wet carpet pads & sub floors? Yes, maybe back in 1960 when they used under powered portable machines & maybe still today from other cheap outfits that still operate like they did some 40 years ago. We Rapid Speed Dry all of our work plus we use high performance Truckmounts & High Performance Truckmount tools. The days of 3 day dry times are out the window, it is 2008! You will find that your professional Truckmounted Carpet cleaner will have your carpets dry in hours not days. We like to get out work dry by the time we leave or just close to it.

I bet you take your hair into the shower to clean it rather than mist on some cleaner & rub it in your head with a rag & claim it’s clean with a great benefit that it dried right away. Same thing goes with Truck Mounted Steam Cleaning!

Dr. Michael Berry, in his book “Protecting the built Environment: Cleaning for Health.” says that most indoor cleaning problems are related to dirty carpets, but this problem can be solved through maintenance and restoration.

Carpets act like a sink to collect pollutants of all kinds from indoors and out, according to Berry. As the sink gets filled up (the carpets get polluted), it stores more and more dirt, dust and contaminants. When the sink is full, it needs to be emptied. If a carpet is not cleaned on a regular basis, it can become a breeding ground for biopollutants, Berry says. It is crucial to regularly empty the sink and make sure that your carpets are cleaned properly.

Berry says that the medical community recommends that people remove carpets from buildings and homes, but that is wrong to assume that all carpet will become contaminated and affect peoples health. Rarely do people clean their carpets in an effort to protect their health, Berry says, but cleaning carpet regularly can improve indoor air quality.

Some of the benefits of extracting pollutants from carpets include: Reducing health problems from loose particles; reducing cases of biologically induced illness; reducing lifetime cancer risks; reducing complaints for building owners and managers; and reducing liability for building owners and managers.

Adam Doling , Assistant Manager Editor

Cleanfax

Dr. Michael Berry of the EPA has this to say about carpet cleaning.. .. ..

“I have reached the conclusion that carpeting and fabrics not cleaned and properly maintained have the potential to cause a variety of health problems inside the building environment.”

“….every time carpets and fabrics are emptied of their pollution build-up through professional cleaning methods, there is a health benefit.”

“We are also finding that typical vacuuming does not reduce fine particle levels indoors. Fine particles of less than 7 microns pass on through vacuum cleaning bags. These particles tend to build up over time and have the greatest potential to cause harm as they penetrate deep into the human lung.” (This is why we recommend sub-micron bags or HEPA filters on your vac.)

“From a public health perspective I would find it impossible to justify the installation of carpets indoors without the existence of effective cleaning methods using environmentally-sound cleaning technology by individuals properly trained in the application of those methods and technology.”

“Until such time as the fibres are cleaned the potential for human exposure and health risk remains high.”

“….the benefit of extracting is the overall reduction of reparable particles which cause most health effects, reduced cases of biogradically induced illnesses, reduced lifetime cancer risks, and reduced complaints and liability for building owners and managers.”
